Yesterday, M-Audio introduced its latest Session Music Producer USB microphone. At $99, it's less expensive than other M-Audio mics, and has the added benefit of an in-microphone headphone jack, which, according to the company, means that there's a shorter path between the sound input and output, leading to "near-zero latency so users can monitor their performances in real time." Plus, the microphone itself has a pretty old-school local newscaster look, for your at home talk show hosting pleasure.
The Music Producer also comes with the company's Session recording software, which is similar to Apple's Garageband, but works on PCs and Macs. Keep your karaoke performances forever and practice for "American Idol" to your heart's content: just don't send us the resulting mp3s.
