Optimus Keyboard: lots of screens, lots of dollars

optimus.jpg

What makes a keyboard deserve a $1,500 price tag? Not much, as far as I'm concerned, but here's one that tries pretty hard. It's called the Optimus Maximus Keyboard, and what makes it so fancy is that every single one of the keys has its own OLED screen, allowing you to change its appearance anytime you want and put specific program icons on special function keys off to the side and along the top.

All in all, it certainly looks like perhaps the most drool-worthy version of the classically boring peripheral ever produced. But is it worth $1,500? I guess that depends how loaded you are. If you are very, very loaded, then maybe this will go well with your gold-plated PC and Armedchair. Otherwise, don't be an idiot. No keyboard is worth $1,500, no matter how many tiny screens it has.
